The University of Perugia contributes to all seven ARTEMIS Work Packages. Its involvement includes the coordination of Alliance activities, the development of the Inter-University Campus, education and mobility, research, innovation, regional engagement and communication. This page connects these areas through initiatives to which UniPG has contributed and materials documenting their development.
Education, mobility and participation
Cooperation among the partner universities also takes shape through opportunities for students, PhD candidates and staff. In Perugia, the ARTEMIS Info Days introduced the Alliance to the university community, while the Ambassadors promote exchanges among students from the partner universities. Alongside these initiatives, ARTEMIS develops joint educational programmes, mobility experiences and tools for collaboration across its campuses.

Research and interdisciplinary collaboration
On 29 and 30 June 2026, UniPG hosted the ARTEMIS Pinnacle Summit and Non-Conference together with the University of Ioannina. The Open Borders Summit and the Spaces We Share, Spaces of Care Non-Conference brought together institutional representatives, academic staff, researchers and PhD candidates around the Alliance’s three research areas: technology and transport, health and the environment, and migration and human rights. The discussion sessions provided an opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and for developing collaboration among the partner universities.
This initiative forms part of the ARTEMIS Research Pathways, which connect research priorities, research centres and new project ideas. Participating in a research meeting and launching a project are distinct stages. Projects and results directly attributable to UniPG will be presented here with specific references once they have been documented.
Innovation and regional engagement
ARTEMIS also works on knowledge transfer and collaboration with businesses and local organisations. Among its shared resources, the Alliance has published a mapping of regional initiatives and a framework for assessing the impact of sustainable innovation. These are Alliance-wide tools; innovation activities developed with a direct contribution from UniPG will be documented separately on this page.
One initiative already documented in Perugia is the Living Lab on mobility in Umbria, launched in 2025 as part of WP6. During the session held on 3 July 2026, scientifically coordinated by Professor Daniele Parbuono, the University and its students met with representatives of the Municipality of Perugia, the Umbria Region, Minimetrò, Trenitalia and Busitalia. Making activities and results accessible
UniPG’s contribution also includes sharing ARTEMIS initiatives and the information needed to participate in them. This page brings together links to projects, participating organisations and relevant public materials, making these activities accessible to the other partner universities and to organisations interested in collaborating.
The term impact refers to results that can be documented over time. Meetings held, collaborations established and published materials are already verifiable outputs. The effects of these activities on education, research and regional development will be presented when data or materials become available to describe them accurately.
